“THE IMPACT OF PROGRESS AND USE OF TECHNOLOGY"

               Today's technology has mastered the entire archipelago has been covering the whole world.  Many of the influences that exist in the advancement of technology, both in terms of positive and negative, in order to get information is one of the technological progress. So, with the advancement of technology it is faster in gaining information. But in a society, there is always a problem called social problem. It is society that determines something can be called a social problem or not. The social problem is a mismatch between the elements of culture or society, which is a group of social life. If there is a clash between the elements, it can cause social disturbances such as shakiness in the life of the group or community.

               The most dominating factor of social problems is the economic factor. Because this factor that looks very prominent in the presence of many differences that exist in the level of the community.

Other social problems that often arise are due to technological advances or globalization. The rapid development of the world of science and technology has brought tremendous benefits to the progress of human civilization. The development of the world of technology and natural science not only lead to benefits, but there are also negative impacts that must be considered. All existing changes, including social issues, must be properly considered in order to solve the problem that can also be maximized.

               The number of social issues due to the progress and use of technology the rapid development of science and technology has brought tremendous benefits to the progress of human civilization. The types of work that previously required considerable physical capability, now relatively can be replaced by automatic machine tools. The robotic work system has transformed the power of human muscle with amazing magnification and acceleration.

               Likewise with the discovery of new formulations of various computer capacity, as if it is able to shift the position of the human brain ability in various fields of science and human activity. In short, the progress of science and technology that we have achieved today has truly been recognized and felt to provide many conveniences and comfort for human life.

               For today's society, science and technology has been a religion. Science and technology development is considered as the solution of the existing problems. People even worship science and technology as a liberator which will free them from the world of mortality. Science and technology is believed to give humanity health, happiness and immortality. The contribution of science and technology to civilization and human welfare cannot be denied. But man cannot also deceive himself against the fact that science and technology bring misfortune and misery for man. In a modern civilization, too often humans are shocked by the disillusionment of the negative impacts of science and technology on human life. Although science and technology is able to reveal all the veils of the secrets of nature and life, it does not mean that science and technology is synonymous with the truth. Science and technology is only capable of displaying reality. The human truth must be more than an objective reality; Truth must also include the element of justice.

               Blumer and Thompson (in Afdanir,2016) said that what is meant by social problems is a condition formulated or declared by an influential entity that threatens the values ​​of a society so that it affects the majority of the members of society and the condition is expected to be overcome through joint activities. The entity may be a public discussion or a topic of review in the mass media, such as television, internet, radio and newspapers.

               So who decides that something is a social issue or not, is a society that is then socialized. And the severity of social problems that occur can be measured by comparing between the ideal with the reality that occurred.

               An example is the problem of poverty that can be defined as a low standard of living, that is, a degree of material deprivation in some or a group of people compared to the standard of living prevailing in the society concerned.

               Social problems arise due to the striking difference between the value in society and the reality that exists. This can be a source of social problems such as social processes and natural disasters. The existence of social problems in society is defined by institutions that have special powers such as community leaders, government, social organizations, community meetings, and so forth.

               As a result of technological progress we can see from the differences of personality of men and women. Many experts argue that now the larger portion of women who hold a position as a leader, both in the world of government and in the business world. Even behavioral changes toward behaviors that previously constituted a man's work are increasingly prominent. Data written in the book Megatrend for Women: From Liberation to Leadership written by Patricia Aburdene & John Naisbitt (1993,in Afdanir 2016) shows that the role of women in leadership is getting bigger. More and more women are entering politics, as members of parliament, senators, governors, ministers, and other key positions.
