"Curriculum Changes"
"Curriculum Changes"
Indonesia has various ways to improve the quality of education one of
them is with curriculum changes based on the Education Character changes the
curriculum about the purpose and tools or ways to achieve that goal. Changing
curriculum often means changing people, teachers, educators, and those who care
for education. That's because curriculum changes are considered as social change,
a social change. The curriculum changes are also called development (renewal)
or curriculum innovation.
Regarding the meaning of curriculum change, when we talk about
curriculum change, we can ask in what sense the curriculum is used. The
curriculum can be viewed as a book or document that is used as a teacher in the
learning process. The curriculum can also be seen as a product that is what
students expect to achieve and as a process to achieve it. Both are interacting
with each other. The curriculum can also be defined as living and valid for a
certain period of time and needs to be revised periodically to keep it relevant
to the times.
Furthermore, the curriculum can be interpreted as what in reality occurs
with students in the classroom. The curriculum in this sense can not be fully
planned no matter how detailed it is planned, because in classroom interactions
there are always spontaneous and creative things that can not be predicted
before. In this case the teacher is more likely to be a curriculum developer in
its class. Finally, the curriculum can be viewed as a spark of the educator's
soul that strives to realize the ideals, the highest values in the behavior
of the students. This curriculum is closely related to the teacher's
personality.
The formal curriculum changes the curriculum guidelines, relatively more
limited than the real curriculum. The real curriculum is not just a manual, but
everything that children experience in classrooms, gyms, school stalls,
playgrounds, tour work, and many other activities, in short on all the lives of
children throughout school. Changing the curriculum in this broad sense is much
wider and thus more complicated, as it involves many variables.
So it can be concluded that changing the curriculum here means changing
everything involved in it, the teachers themselves, students, principals,
parents and the general public who are interested in school education. As the
authors have pointed out above, that curriculum change is social change,
curriculum change is social change.
