“Influence
of the Era on the Uniqueness and Culture of Traditional Village”
Bali is a tourism destination with a
unique variety of art-culture, especially for outside tourists. Bali is also
known by the nickname of the Island of the Gods and Pulau Seribu Pura. Bali has some uniqueness and culture that has
many characteristics of cultural custom which is still thick. But along with
the development of the era and technology as if the uniqueness and culture of
traditional village began to be influenced by the development of modern times.
This time I will discuss about the influence of the era on the uniqueness and
culture of traditional village in Bali.
Traditional Village is a traditional government system that serves to take care
of custom, social, religious and cultural issues in the respective villages.
The customary village government is led by a chairman called Kelihan Adat or Bendesa Adat. In the traditional village there are Banjar Dinas that are responsible for
the problems of the village community, for example, to apply for identity
cards, family cards, and important government (Santika, 2011).
Many of us know Bali has a lot of
uniqueness and unique culture and sacred, for examples the characteristic
Balinese traditional dress that has many people know it out and Bali also has a
very special culture. Many A unique ceremony or ritual that can attract outside
tourists to visit Bali Island, as an example Kecak Dance performed by the Balinese are full of special and
unique. Many of the uniqueness and culture possessed by the Balinese who are
already known by outside Bali and even the World. But as the development of the
era and technology little by little the culture and uniqueness of the island of
Bali is influenced, such as how to dress the ancient Balinese with the current
is much different, many who have experienced the first change how to dress very
polite and simple, but now the way dressed adults and even parents follow the
development of times such as the use of kamen and kebaya are not polite for praying. According to Agus,a student, the occurrence
of such changes is due to the influence of modern times, the influence of
present day trends to be followed and so as not to look ancient. "I am very confident and feel to
follow the times with the present appearance of the,” said Agus.
How to dress Hindus when they want to
send bhakti to the temple again crowded discussed. In dressed custom to the
temple, Hindus began to put forward the fashion and taste of dress rather than
the essence of worship. Some wear kebaya clothes with a thin cloth or
transparent. There are also those who wear kamen gantut (Kain knee), which is
not exactly used in space and time, because it is a religious activity. The
style of bravery to the disrespectful temple invites the concern of the
Chairman of Parisadha Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI) of Bali Province, I Gusti
Ngurah Sudiana. Sudiana does not deny that more and more Hindus are modifying
their dress code to make it more transparent and seductive. According to
Sudiana (in Putra, 2017), there has actually been a Hindu Religion Tafseer on
the dress code.
According to Nita, a career woman, “the uniqueness and sanctity of Balinese traditional culture that has
begun to experience a shift, such as ceremonies that are often used for
ceremonial prayer or for God offerings, but used for welcoming ceremonies or
tourists, as well as Balinese dance offerings that are usually danced in
temples for the worship of God but are currently being danced for the reception
of the Invited Guests,”
Said the Woman from besakih.
It is undeniable that with the uniqueness and
culture of the island of Bali so that tourists happy and comfortable for the
holidays and culminate to the island of Bali. So that way can be concluded that
Traditional Village has an important role to preserve and preserve
the uniqueness and culture of the traditional village so that not all
uniqueness and culture are shifting though.
